Honoring the 2024 Gundie Awards Nomination: A Canadian's Journey in the Firearms World

Dear Northern Ballistics Community,

As I sit down to write this post, I find myself filled with a sense of surreal gratitude and awe. It’s not every day that a small-time Canadian like myself, immersed in the vast ocean of the North American firearms industry, gets recognized in such a prestigious manner. Today, I am humbled and thrilled to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who nominated and voted for me in the 2024 Gundie Awards.

The voting period, now closed, was a time of excitement and reflection for me. The Gundie Awards, set to take place in Las Vegas on January 22nd, 2024, represent more than just an accolade; they are a celebration of passion, dedication, and community in the firearms world. Being nominated for these awards was something I never even dared to imagine when I first started Northern Ballistics. Yet, here we are, thanks to your unwavering support and belief in my work.

I entered this field with a simple goal: to showcase the beauty and intricacy of firearms through the lens of my camera, blending my passion for photography with the world of firearms. This journey has been anything but easy. There were challenges and learning curves, but the joy and satisfaction in each step made it all worth it. To be acknowledged among a sea of talented and seasoned content creators in the firearms industry is both an honor and a humbling experience.

Making it to the top 4 is a dream, but I’m keeping my expectations in check. The competition is fierce, and every nominee is incredibly talented and deserving. Regardless of the outcome, this nomination is a win for me and for all of us at Northern Ballistics. It’s a testament to the power of community, hard work, and staying true to one’s passion.

In the midst of this exciting journey, I can’t help but give a special shoutout to my trusted Canon 90D and the array of Sigma lenses that have been integral to my work. These tools have been more than just equipment; they’ve been my companions in capturing the essence of each firearm I photograph. The Canon 90D’s robustness and versatility, paired with the sharpness and clarity of Sigma lenses, have allowed me to bring my creative vision to life. Each image that has resonated with you, my audience, bears the signature quality these tools deliver. They’ve been instrumental in helping me reach this significant milestone in my career, and I’m excited about the stunning visuals we will continue to create together.

I want to extend a special thank you to the Gundie Awards committee for considering my work and to each one of you who took the time to vote. Your support is the backbone of Northern Ballistics. It’s your engagement, comments, and shared enthusiasm that fuel my desire to create and share my work.

As I consider heading to Las Vegas for the awards ceremony, I carry with me not just the hope of winning but the pride and joy of representing our Canadian firearms community on an international stage. This nomination isn’t just about me; it’s about all of us who share a love for firearms and the art of capturing their essence.

Thank you once again for your incredible support. I look forward to sharing this experience with you and continuing our journey together, one photo and one story at a time.

Stay tuned for updates from the awards ceremony and, as always, keep shooting and sharing your passion!

With immense gratitude,

Jason C Signature
